Moom walk

Moom is part of the 3D module which was provided by mat, he's been rigged and all i had to do is follow along the tutorials and try and make moom walk in a 3d space which was quite intresting.

here is a screen shot of posing Moom in the time line.

after doing all the poses i did a play blast and this is how it turned out:

i liked how it turned out but did not really enjoy the process to make it move and would rather not animate much through Maya

3D Keep it trucking & Do it yourself

This is my first time actually using Maya which I've never used before, i did have some experience with 3d modeling when using blender, but it seems like them skills i learned where not as useful when using Maya because it's a different program with its own features.

Creating the truck was simple, i simply followed along the tutorials Mat provided and learned many things as i was creating the truck such as edge cut loops and moving the pivot around the object i was modeling and then attach it to another object such as a cube.

i had a lot of fun making the truck and would of liked to texture it but i didn't know how which i should investigate in my own time.

here is the truck on a flat plane that i decided to place to make it seem like it was not just floating in the air.

as u can see above i think the truck turned out well, also through the process i found out how to group objects together and give names to grouped objects which will be very helpful if I'm making something that has many parts to it.

After making the truck i tried to make my own object, which i decided would be my phone, at first i thought it would be easy but it turned out to be harder then expected. Steve gave me advice on how to go about making it and what i should do to prevent me fro making mistakes which did happen but it was fine because i had duplicated the object each time i added or changed something about the object, just in case of problems occurring since I'm still new to Maya.

here is my phone and the 3D model of my phone:

As you can see above, I've tried to get every detail of my phone such as the charger port and the buttons on the side. this was fun to produce and would of been amazing to see it textured to look exactly like my phone which I've explained earlier that i will need to experiment and find out how to place texture on top of the 3D model.

i have enjoyed the process of 3D modeling but I've still got a lot to learn and hope to progress in making objects which i can use as reference when I'm animation in a 2D digital format,
